Step into a vital role caring for pediatric patients recovering from complex cardiovascular procedures. This contract opportunity is designed for skilled registered nurses with a background in Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care, offering a chance to provide high-level, hands-on care for children in critical and stepdown settings.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to respond compassionately and effectively in urgent situations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working closely with multidisciplinary pediatric teams

Schedule/Hours:

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU-level care, 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU status (by shift)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based, specialized nursing care to children in a Cardiovascular ICU, managing complex cardiac conditions
• Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient status and responses to treatment
• Implement and adjust care plans in collaboration with physicians, specialists, and family members
• Safely administer medications, infusions, and interventions following established protocols
• Educate and support families during a critical time, providing clear communication and emotional encouragement
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes
