Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of critically ill children by providing specialized care in a respected pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit. This contract role calls for an experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical judgment and expertise in pediatric cardiovascular ICU settings.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Schedule and shift hours will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Patient ratios are maintained at 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU care, and 1:3 for stepdown or non-ICU assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with eligibility to practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU.
  • Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide focused, vigilant care to pediatric patients with critical cardiac needs.
  • Proven competency in managing advanced cardiac life support scenarios and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with critical cardiovascular conditions, using evidence-based practices.
  • Continuously monitor, assess, and document changes in patient status to optimize care interventions.
  • Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios as assigned: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU-level care, 1:3 for stepdown.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and support staff regarding patient progress and care plans.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and compliance guidelines.
