This contract opportunity seeks a highly skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVICU). Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment (specific shifts to be discussed)
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- At least 2 years of dedicated experience in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU
- Current certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS
- Strong understanding of nurse-to-patient ratios typical to CVICU: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU status, 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU
- Ability to respond swiftly and effectively in high-stakes situations
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Genuine passion for working with pediatric patients and providing family-focused care
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized nursing care to pediatric CVICU and stepdown patients
- Closely monitor complex cardiac and hemodynamic status
- Administer appropriate medications, therapies, and interventions as ordered
- Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate families regarding patient conditions, treatments, and ongoing care needs
- Maintain meticulous documentation and participate in care planning and multidisciplinary rounds
- Adhere to stringent safety and infection control protocols throughout every stage of care
