This contract position seeks a skilled critical care RN with a passion for cardiovascular intensive care and a commitment to excellence in patient outcomes.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position; specific shifts and length discussed at interview

Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Completion of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm interpretation test
• Previous CVICU or high-acuity critical care experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct cardiovascular ICU-level care in a 15-bed, high-acuity unit serving patients with diagnoses such as cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, and arrhythmias
• Provide post-operative management and monitoring for post-ventricular assist device placement and S/P cardiopulmonary arrest
• Care for a varied patient population, adolescent to late adult (ages 1460+), in alignment with unit standards
• Implement evidence-based practices for patients requiring advanced therapies, including ECMO support for severe cases
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning
• Maintain a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with support from patient care technicians
