Step into a pivotal role providing specialized care for pediatric patients within a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse who brings compassion, advanced clinical knowledge, and thrives in high-acuity settings.
Schedule/Hours:
- Shifts based on ICU needs, including both 1:1 and 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios for ICU status, and 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU cases.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of recent experience working in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Expertise in managing critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
- Excellent clinical judgment and ability to respond swiftly in emergent situations
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients post-cardiac surgery or with acute cardiac diagnoses
- Closely monitor patient status, interpret vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and families, to develop and follow individualized care plans
- Document care appropriately and communicate effectively with both team members and families
- Support the transition of patients from ICU to stepdown and provide guidance during recovery phases
