Deliver specialized care in a dynamic pediatric cardiovascular intensive care environment, utilizing advanced clinical skills to support children and families during critical times. This contract opportunity calls for an experienced RN with a passion for pediatric cardiovascular nursing and a dedication to excellence.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position with variable shifts, based on facility needs.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) nursing.
• Certifications required: BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
• Demonstrated commitment to providing safe, high-quality patient care.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making abilities.
• Compassionate communication skills when working with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the CVICU, managing a patient ratio of 1:1, 1:2 for ICU status, and up to 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU status.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to emergencies, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists, intensivists, and allied health practitioners to develop and update care plans.
• Educate patients families about conditions, treatments, and care options to promote understanding and participation.
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation to support continuity and quality of care.
• Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives to stay current with best practices.
