Job Description

Exciting opportunities are available for experienced RNs with a passion for cardiac care in a dynamic, specialized Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This role is essential to the treatment and recovery of cardiac patients both before and after surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to a collaborative nursing environment, focused on delivering the highest standard of critical care.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday availability necessary
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a CVICU or similar critical care setting
  • Strong skills in caring for cardiac patients pre-op and post-op
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a new, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and clinical assessment abilities
  • Flexibility to float between CVICU, PICU, Pediatric, and NICU units as patient needs dictate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and comprehensive care to critically ill cardiac patients
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responding to changes with timely interventions
  • Support both surgical and nonsurgical cardiac care plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Educate and support patients and their families throughout their care journey
  • Maintain meticulous, up-to-date records to ensure continuity and quality of care
