This contract position is ideal for experienced critical care nurses eager to use their skills in a fast-paced, innovative unit, supporting cardiothoracic surgery recoveries, neuro/neurosurgery cases, and highly complex ICU-level needsincluding advanced support such as ECMO.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract role with shifts in a 15-bed CVICU
• Patient population: Adolescents through late adults (1460+)
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with strong critical care experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
• Skilled in cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, and post-ventricular assist device care

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity CVICU setting
• Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac and neuro diagnoses, including post-op cardiothoracic surgery cases
• Respond efficiently to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including patient care techs and physicians
• Support advanced therapies such as ECMO and post-arrest management
