Schedule/Hours:
- Rotating every other weekend
- Flexible contract, with extra days off available
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with strong background in cardiovascular intensive or recovery care
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years experience in CVICU or CVRU
- Prior training in critical care essential
- Positive attitude, high energy, and a passion for cardiac surgical nursing
- Preference given to candidates with certifications in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for post-op and critically ill cardiac patients (1:1 or 1:2 nurse-patient ratio)
- Manage advanced devices: IABP, IMPELLA, LVADS, ECMO
- Perform essential procedures: monitoring hemodynamics, frequent ambulation, chest tube and pacer wire removal, intubation/extubation
- Float to other ICU and stepdown units as needed
- Follow all policies for clinical safety and professionalism
- Work collaboratively with educators, charge nurses, and the multidisciplinary team
