Working in this dynamic CVICU on the 3rd floor Heart Tower, youll collaborate with highly skilled charge nurses, clinical educators, and an interdisciplinary team dedicated to heart surgery and advanced patient care. Schedule/Hours
- Rotating shifts available
- Holiday and every other weekend coverage required
- Extra days off can be requested within your contract
Desired Qualifications
- Active RN license with BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 2 years experience in a CVICU or CVRU setting
- Formal critical care training and a passion for surgical heart care
- High energy, upbeat personality and a commitment to ongoing learning
- Preferred: Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care
Key Responsibilities
- Manage care for high-acuity cardiac surgery patients, including those requiring ECMO, Impellas, IABP, and LVADs
- Perform procedures such as pulling chest tubes, pacer wire management, hemodynamic monitoring, and ambulation of post-op patients
- Float as needed to other ICU and stepdown units
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses, educators, and aides to maintain excellent patient outcomes
- Adhere to professional attire (navy blue or white scrubs)
