Seeking an experienced RN with strong CVICU expertise to provide specialized care for cardiac patients in a vibrant, newly established Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about high-acuity cardiac care, participating in both pre- and postoperative management, and committed to delivering excellence in a dynamic hospital setting.

Schedule/Hours:

• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Willingness to work holidays and take on-call shifts
• Flexibility to adapt schedule based on surgical case needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert nursing care to adult cardiac patients pre- and post-surgery in a CVICU environment
• Closely monitor patients cardiac status, intervene in emergencies, and promptly collaborate with cardiologists and surgeons
• Float as needed to specialized pediatric units, including PICU, Peds, and NICU, maintaining a high level of care and professionalism across diverse populations
• Ensure all clinical documentation is thorough and timely
• Support patient and family education regarding complex cardiac conditions and recovery processes
• Uphold strict safety, quality, and infection prevention standards at all times

Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a CVICU or similar critical care setting
• Proficiency in invasive cardiac monitoring, post-surgical cardiac care, and ventilator management
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred due to potential floating assignments
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to fast-paced clinical demands
