Excellent opportunity for a dedicated registered nurse with specialized experience in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This contract position calls for strong clinical skills and a passion for delivering comprehensive care to pediatric patients requiring both critical and stepdown support.
Schedule/Hours:
- Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU status, 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a pediatric CVICU setting
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
- Stellar communication and collaboration abilities
- Strong critical thinking skills in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based, compassionate nursing care to pediatric cardiovascular patients in critical and stepdown care settings
- Monitor, assess, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition
- Accurately document clinical activities and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and support advanced cardiovascular therapies
- Educate and support families to promote understanding and participation in the care process
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and best practices in pediatric cardiovascular ICU care
