Job Description

Excellent opportunity for a dedicated registered nurse with specialized experience in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This contract position calls for strong clinical skills and a passion for delivering comprehensive care to pediatric patients requiring both critical and stepdown support.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU status, 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a pediatric CVICU setting
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
  • Stellar communication and collaboration abilities
  • Strong critical thinking skills in fast-paced, high-acuity environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based, compassionate nursing care to pediatric cardiovascular patients in critical and stepdown care settings
  • Monitor, assess, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition
  • Accurately document clinical activities and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Administer medications, manage IVs, and support advanced cardiovascular therapies
  • Educate and support families to promote understanding and participation in the care process
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and best practices in pediatric cardiovascular ICU care
