Deliver advanced pediatric cardiovascular care by applying your expertise in a dynamic CVICU setting. This contract role demands strong clinical skills and a compassionate approach, working with critically ill children and their families. Youll be part of a collaborative care team, prioritizing patient safety and high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent experience in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU environment
- Certifications current in BLS, PALS, and ACLS
- Comfortable managing various nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 and 1:2 for ICU status patients; 1:3 for stepdown and non-ICU cases
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions
- Closely monitor cardiac and hemodynamic status, responding promptly to urgent changes
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols
- Accurately document assessments, observations, and interventions in the patient health record
- Support and educate patients families, offering clear explanations and compassionate reassurance
- Contribute to infection control, safety, and quality improvement initiatives within the unit
