Deliver specialized critical care as an RN in a fast-paced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) supporting patients through complex cardiac and neurological conditions. This contract role, based in Franklin, TN, offers an opportunity to provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery and neuro/neurosurgical interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage care for up to two high-acuity patients requiring advanced cardiac and neurological monitoring.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans for conditions such as cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, and post-ventricular assist device placement.
• Provide ICU-level care including ventilator management and advanced life support interventions.
• Perform continuous assessment and rapid interventions for patients in critical conditions, including ECMO care during COVID-19 patient surges.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Proficient in National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Successful completion of proctored cardiac rhythm test.
• Experience in CVICU or equivalent intensive care unit strongly preferred.

Unit Details:

• 15-bed CVICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
• Patient population ranging from adolescents (14+) to late adults (60+).
• Typical diagnoses include cardiac surgery recovery, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and post-cardiopulmonary arrest.
