Job Description

Nurses with expertise in cardiovascular intensive care will excel in this dynamic, high-acuity environment, where advanced clinical skills and dedication make a real difference to critically ill patients. This contract opportunity places you in one of Tennessees busiest critical care departments, catering to patients spanning the full spectrum of cardiac and neuro conditions. The unit boasts a capacity of 15 beds, with a focus on advanced cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and ventricular assist device placements. Care extends from adolescents through late adults, often involving post-surgical and complex cardiac cases, including those requiring ECMO support.

Schedule/Hours

  • Contract role, scheduling discussed upon application
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2, supporting manageable caseloads

Desired Qualifications and Certifications

  • Valid RN license with relevant experience in CVICU or similar critical care setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
  • Strong clinical assessment, teamwork, and communication skills
