Deliver specialized nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiovascular intensive care setting dedicated to patients recovering from complex cardiac and neurological conditions. This contract opportunity supports a critical care unit renowned for managing some of the most critically ill patients in the region, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery, neuro/neurosurgery, and advanced cardiac support such as ECMO therapy.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert nursing care to patients with diagnoses including cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, post cardiopulmonary arrest, and post ventricular assist device placement.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort for adolescent through late adult populations (ages 14-60+).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and manage complex patient conditions in a 15-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Participate in rigorous care protocols and deliver treatments in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Qualifications and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in cardiovascular intensive care (CVICU).
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Certification in National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Successful completion of a proctored cardiac rhythm test.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to dynamic patient acuity levels.
