Job Description

Seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to provide critical care in a specialized CVICU setting, supporting cardiac patients in both pre- and post-operative stages. This role requires adaptability in a dynamic environment and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Schedule/Hours

  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage as part of the rotation
  • Participation in on-call shifts
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate surgical cases

Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid RN license with demonstrated competence in the CVICU specialty
  • Proven experience with critically ill cardiac patients, including pre- and post-op care
  • Ability to float between related units as needed, including PICU, Peds, and NICU
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Capacity to manage high-stress situations with professionalism and composure

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver continuous, attentive care to CVICU patients before and after cardiac procedures
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medication, and implement care plans
  • Respond rapidly to emergencies and manage critical patient interventions
  • Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure patient readiness and post-op recovery
  • Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in an accurate and timely manner
  • Float to other pediatric and neonatal critical care units as operational needs arise
