Schedule & Hours:
- 12-hour Day shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday shifts as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Illinois RN license, current CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 3 years of CVICU experience
- Strong proficiency in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and cardiac devices (Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, LVAD/RVAD, etc.)
- Experience managing ventilated patients, drips (sedation, vasoactive, paralytics), and post-surgical cardiac care
- Epic EMR experience
- EKG test score of 80% or above (submission required)
- Charge nurse experience preferred (please indicate on resume)
- Experience with Impella, ECMO, and LVADs highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced cardiac critical care across the CVICU and, if needed, float to nearby ICU units
- Monitor and manage invasive lines, advanced cardiac devices, and titrate complex IV medications
- Deliver patient-centered care in adherence with evidence-based infection prevention practices
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in a thorough orientation to enhance clinical integration
