Advance your nursing career in a high-acuity pediatric environment providing comprehensive care in a dynamic CVICU unit. This contract role requires critical thinking, expertise in pediatric cardiac procedures, and the ability to manage complex cases for children requiring chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
• Full-time contract

Key Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Texas or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Pediatric cardiac experience required, including care for patients with chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• At least one year of experience in a critical care or related nursing specialty preferred
• Recent graduates will be considered
• Attendance at New Nurses Orientation required within the first 30 days of hire
• Successful completion of competency validations and annual requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver routine and complex nursing care guided by assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Manage and delegate assignments to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Administer and monitor medications and treatments per protocol, noting side effects and efficacy
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families
• Provide patient and family education, and connect them with resources as needed
• Maintain accurate patient documentation including history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
