Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotations; no on-call
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years recent CVICU experience
- Passing EKG test with a score of at least 80%
- Active Illinois RN license, BLS (CPR), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with Epic preferred
- Charge experience desirable (please indicate if applicable)
- Must be willing to float to other ICUs as needed
- Recent CVICU supervisor reference and updated skills checklist
- Familiarity with devices such as Impella, LVAD, ECMO strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based care for complex cardiac and post-cardiac surgical patients
- Manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, cardiac devices (IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD)
- Administer advanced IV therapies, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Interpret and intervene in acute stroke and complex ventilator management situations
- Uphold infection prevention policies and PPE protocols
