Step into a specialized cardiovascular intensive care environment where your experience will support both pre- and post-operative cardiac patients. This contract nursing opportunity offers a dynamic setting, ideal for dedicated professionals ready to make an impact in critical care.
Schedule/Hours:
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday shifts as scheduled
- Willingness to be on call as needed
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Active RN license with eligibility to practice
- Proven experience in CVICU settings, caring for cardiac patients
- Proficiency in monitoring and managing critical, complex cases
- Flexibility to adapt schedule for specialized surgical cases
- Capability and openness to float to related units such as PICU, Pediatrics, and NICU
- Excellent assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Strong team orientation and commitment to patient-centered care
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac patients before and after surgery
- Closely monitor patients conditions and respond promptly to changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver specialized, high-acuity care
- Administer medications, assist with procedures, and operate advanced monitoring equipment
- Educate patients and families, ensuring understanding of procedures, care plans, and recovery expectations
- Flex to cover other critical units including Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care, as staffing needs arise
- Document all care clearly and accurately according to unit and facility policies
