The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit offers the chance to work alongside a passionate, expert team that fosters learning and excellence. Surrounded by experienced CVICU/CVRU charge nurses, an onboarding educator, and team-led patient care, your RN skills will be continually supported and challenged. Here, youll refine your abilities caring for complex post-surgical heart patients, expand your critical care knowledgefrom managing ECMO, Impella, and LVADs to mastering advanced monitoring with Cerner and GE systemsand gain valuable cross-training through floating to multiple ICUs and stepdown units.
Schedule & Hours:
- Every other weekend required
- Extra days off can be arranged within your contract period
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Active RN license with BLS/ACLS certification
- At least 2 years CVICU or CVRU experience
- Strong background in critical care and a genuine passion for surgical heart care
- Upbeat, energetic demeanor; enthusiastic about continuous learning
- Preferred: Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care
Unit Overview:
- 19-bed CVICU/CVRU with a 1:2 or 1:1 ratio; occasional 1:3 for downgraded patients
- Procedures include IABP, Impella, LVAD care, hemodynamics, chest tube and pacer wire removal, intubation/extubation
