Join a dynamic cardiovascular intensive care unit and provide top-tier patient care in a rewarding contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in CVICU nursing. Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of New York
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a CVICU or cardiac critical care setting
- Proficient in caring for patients with cardiac conditions, including those with ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and other critical care equipment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time contract position; schedule details to be discussed during the interview process
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-operative cardiac surgery and critically ill cardiac patients within the CVICU
- Continually assess and monitor patients, respond swiftly to changes in condition, and adjust care plans accordingly
- Administer medications, manage IV drips, and operate specialized life-support equipment
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff
- Document care and progress in the electronic medical record accurately and promptly
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control practices, and professional nursing standards
