Job Description

Exceptional critical care nurses are needed for a fast-paced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) located in Brentwood, TN. This contract opportunity involves caring for some of the most critically ill patients, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery and neurosurgery. The unit also provides ICU-level care to patients with COVID-19, including those requiring advanced treatments such as Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized nursing care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, and post ventricular assist device placement.
  • Manage high-acuity patients aged 14 to 60+ in a 15-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including patient care technicians to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
  • Monitor complex cardiac rhythms and perform critical interventions as needed in a high-intensity environment.

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test.
