Schedule/Hours:
- 7:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m.
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Call required after one week of orientation (1215 days per 6-week schedule, including two weekends); weekday call is 5:307:00 a.m., weekends are 24 hours (7:00 a.m.7:00 a.m.)
Qualifications:
- Current PA State Board-approved RN license
- BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications are mandatory
- Prior experience in a cath lab setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of congenital heart disease and advanced pediatric assessment
- Proven ability to care for critically ill patients from neonates to teens
Core Responsibilities:
- Review patient information, allergies, medications, and consent forms prior to procedures
- Prepare catheterization rooms, ensuring medication and emergency equipment are readily available
- Work collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia, APPs, and technologists
- Circulate and scrub during cardiac catheterization proceduresincluding diagnostics, interventions, biopsies, and electrophysiology
- Administer contrast and operate point-of-care testing equipment
- Uphold sterile techniques and proactively respond to emergencies
