Serving in a renowned pediatric cardiac catheterization lab, youll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-level care to children with congenital heart conditions. This assignment will broaden your capabilities as you navigate complex procedures from neonates to adolescents, develop advanced assessment skills, and learn diverse approaches to leadership in a truly dynamic environment.
Schedule and Shift Details:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:00 am 5:30 pm)
- Call requirement after 1 week of orientation: 12-15 call days per 6-week period, including 2 weekends
- Weekday call: 5:30 am 7:00 am
- Weekend call: 7:00 am 7:00 am
- Two weekends of 24-hour call required per schedule cycle
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cath procedure rooms and equipment, ensuring readiness for all cases
- Review and verify all patient data, allergies, medications, and consents
- Circulate and scrub for diagnostic, interventional, biopsy, and electrophysiology procedures
- Operate point-of-care testing equipment and manage contrast administration
- Provide specialized pediatric cardiac care, maintain sterile technique, and respond adeptly to emergencies
- Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, anesthesia, technologists, and care teams
Qualifications:
- Valid PA State Board-approved RN license
- BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
- Prior experience in a pediatric cath lab and comfort with critically ill children and adolescents strongly preferred
- Advanced pediatric assessment skills and knowledge of congenital heart disease desirable
