Job Description
Provide specialized care in a high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab, supporting patients undergoing complex heart procedures. This role requires expertise in managing heart failure cases and proficiency in a variety of cath lab interventions including left heart catheterization (LHC), right heart catheterization (RHC), RHC with endomyocardial biopsy (EMBX), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and structural heart interventions. Experience with peripheral and pulmonary embolism (PE) cases is beneficial as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to heart failure and structural heart disease.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and the healthcare team during invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms, promptly recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
- Maintain cath lab equipment and ensure adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately and comprehensively.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Proven experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab setting.
- Knowledge of complex cardiac procedures such as LHC, RHC, EMBX, TAVR, and structural heart interventions.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
