Contribute your expertise by supporting the surgical team in a dynamic operating room setting. In this contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring optimal patient care through high-level technical and clinical support during surgical procedures. Your focus will be on upholding quality standards and providing seamless intraoperative assistance to both surgeons and fellow team members.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position with flexible scheduling based on department needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical cases, maintaining a sterile field and assisting with the setup of instruments and supplies
- Assist the surgical team by retracting tissue, passing instruments, and supplying necessary medications during procedures
- Support intraoperative patient care, ensuring procedures proceed efficiently and safely
- Maintain and track surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring readiness for each procedure
- Adhere strictly to infection control and safety standards at all times
- Collaborate closely with all operating room staff to ensure optimal workflow
Qualifications:
- Experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT)
- Solid understanding of aseptic technique and sterilization processes
- Knowledge of operating room protocols, equipment, and instruments
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities
- Certification as a surgical technologist or equivalent training preferred
