Key Qualifications:

  • Current ORT (Operating Room Technician) or Scrub Nurse experience required
  • Valid and current nursing license or ORT certification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
  • Capable of anticipating surgeon needs during cases and maintaining an organized sterile field
  • Excellent teamwork and effective communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Ability to perform technical responsibilities related to the maintenance of supplies and operating room protocols

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surgical cases, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready and sterile
  • Create and maintain a sterile field throughout each procedure
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons, anticipating procedural needs
  • Retract tissues, handle specimens, and contribute to optimal surgical workflows
  • Collaborate closely with the surgical team to provide intraoperative patient care
  • Support inpatient and outpatient operating room services as assigned
  • Participate in the upkeep and inventory of surgical supplies and instruments
