Key Qualifications:
- Current ORT (Operating Room Technician) or Scrub Nurse experience required
- Valid and current nursing license or ORT certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Capable of anticipating surgeon needs during cases and maintaining an organized sterile field
- Excellent teamwork and effective communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to perform technical responsibilities related to the maintenance of supplies and operating room protocols
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical cases, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready and sterile
- Create and maintain a sterile field throughout each procedure
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons, anticipating procedural needs
- Retract tissues, handle specimens, and contribute to optimal surgical workflows
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to provide intraoperative patient care
- Support inpatient and outpatient operating room services as assigned
- Participate in the upkeep and inventory of surgical supplies and instruments
