This travel nursing assignment in surgical services (OR) offers the unique experience of serving at a dynamic teaching facility. Expand your clinical skills by collaborating within a multifaceted team of RNs, surgical techs, aides, and other allied professionals. The role ensures active participation in a culture of continuous improvement, allowing you to engage with diverse protocols, leadership approaches, and patient populations. This setting is ideal for enhancing your resume with advanced operating room expertise and hands-on, fast-paced medical care.
Schedule:
- Shift: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM, rotating days off
- On-call: 1 night per week, every 3rd to 4th weekend, and up to 1 holiday per year
Qualifications:
- Active NY nursing license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in OR setting
- Prior travel and teaching hospital experience welcomed, though not required
- Ability to circulate required; scrub experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Circulate intraoperative cases across 8 main ORs and 4 at ASC
- Collaborate with unit team for patient care, including transport and IV starts
- Rotate among surgical specialties (excluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, gastric bypass)
- Maintain compliance with dress code, patient safety, and documentation protocols (via EPIC)
- Float between main OR and ASC as needed based on rotation and skillset
- Participate in a supportive team environment with resources including 24/7 respiratory and anesthesia backup
