Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and sterile supplies are available and functioning
  • Assist surgical teams during operations by providing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon
  • Monitor and maintain a sterile environment before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Handle specimen collection and labeling according to best practices
  • Assist with patient positioning and transport, prioritizing patient safety at all times
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and equipment usage

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Nursing or Surgical Technology program, with current certification preferred
  • Prior experience working in an operating room environment
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and aseptic techniques
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to changing patient or team needs
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new technologies and protocols
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
