Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Nursing license or relevant certification for Operating Room Technician (ORT)
- Prior experience supporting intraoperative procedures preferred
- Solid understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention
- Strong technical skills in the preparation and handling of surgical instruments, supplies, and medications
- Ability to assist with retracting, passing instruments, and maintaining clear communication with surgeons and surgical staff
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to anticipate surgical team needs
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and adaptability to changing situations
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgical cases
- Support surgeons by accurately passing instruments and supplies during operations
- Monitor inventory and restock per surgical schedules and needs
- Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and support staff to optimize patient care
- Maintain strict compliance with hospital protocols, regulatory standards, and infection prevention measures
- Prepare and position patients for operative procedures as directed
- Handle a variety of technical tasks related to operating room functions
