Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Demonstrated experience and training as an Operating Room Technician (ORT)
- Comprehensive knowledge of sterile technique and aseptic practices
- Proficient in passing instruments and supplies, retracting tissues, and maintaining surgical fields
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current Nursing - ORT credentials and any required certifications (state/national as applicable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons and nurses by preparing the operating room for procedures
- Maintain a sterile field throughout all surgical operations
- Pass instruments, supplies, and medications to the surgical team as needed
- Count sponges, instruments, and other materials to ensure patient safety
- Support the setup, break down, and proper care of surgical equipment
- Document services and supplies accurately, supporting regulatory and clinical standards
- Actively participate in intraoperative care for both inpatient and outpatient surgery cases
