Position Overview: This role involves delivering patient-centered care and essential unit support within the operating room (OR) environment. The professional will ensure compliance with established practices and regulatory standards while demonstrating thorough knowledge of surgical procedures to anticipate and meet intraoperative needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere strictly to healthcare policies, including patient safety and attendance standards, following ethical guidelines.
- Maintain all mandatory licensing, certifications, and regulatory trainings, submitting documentation promptly.
- Provide high-quality patient care in the OR by anticipating procedural needs and supporting post-operative care such as dressing or cast application.
- Select surgical cases in alignment with physician preference cards and ensure accurate documentation throughout.
- Perform surgical instrument counts with accuracy and report discrepancies, updating surgeon preference cards according to protocols.
- Proactively identify and address issues to enhance department outcomes and patient care quality.
- Undertake additional departmental responsibilities and contribute suggestions to improve processes and cost efficiency.
- Participate in educational initiatives and adapt flexibly to varied shift requirements.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current nursing licensure with Operating Room Technician (ORT) skills and experience.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an OR setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and intraoperative patient care procedures.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to regulatory compliance and hospital policies.
- Flexibility to cover additional or different shifts as needed.
