Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Operating Room Technician to provide essential patient care and unit support within a busy surgical suite. This contract role requires a professional who follows established protocols and contributes to high-quality surgical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere consistently to organizational policies and ethical standards, ensuring patient safety and quality care.
  • Complete and maintain all regulatory and mandatory training including licensing and certification within deadlines.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of patients and surgical teams by preparing cases based on surgeon preference cards and assisting with procedures such as dressings or cast application.
  • Perform accurate counts of surgical instruments and materials before and after procedures, reporting any discrepancies and updating preference cards as necessary.
  • Identify and address issues proactively to improve department operations, including working flexible shifts and contributing to process improvement or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Participate in staff training and development activities.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Experience in Operating Room Technician duties with strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrument handling.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Current and valid licensing and certifications relevant to the role.
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance with safety and healthcare regulations.
