Certified Surgical Technician Operating Room Team Member
Location: Rowe, NM (Contract Position)
This role is essential to the surgical services team, providing critical support throughout surgeries by preparing and managing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting surgeons in the operating room. The position requires dedication, precision, and knowledge of surgical technology to ensure smooth and safe procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and equipment prior to operations
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating their needs
- Handle sterilization, cleansing, and care of surgical tools
- Comply with infection control and safety protocols including Universal Precautions
- Communicate effectively with surgical team members and adhere to clinical policies
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Surgical Technician certification from AHA required
- Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital operating room or surgical instrument care environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of instrument handling, sterilization processes, and OR protocols
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
- Physical stamina to perform duties that involve standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods
Schedule:
- Day shift: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
