Job Description
Certified Surgical Technologists are needed for a contract position supporting surgical services in the Riverview, FL area. This role involves collaborating closely with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure seamless preparation and execution of operative procedures. Candidates should be skilled in handling sterilization processes and preparing case carts for both scheduled and emergent surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to procedural requirements
- Assist surgeons intra-operatively by anticipating needs and maintaining sterile fields
- Manage sterilization and assembly of surgical case carts for daily and emergency cases
- Follow strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively within the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, NBSTSA accredited
- Minimum of 2 years experience in operating room settings
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Compliance with 100-mile travel radius requirement
Schedule Options:
- Option 1: 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours weekly
- Option 2: 12-hour shifts, Monday-Wednesday + Friday, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 36 hours weekly
- On-call availability required
