As a valued member within a thriving operating room department, you will play a key role in supporting a range of surgical procedures, exposed to cases from general to specialized servicesexcluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, and gastric bypass. With a supportive staff and multi-faceted team structure including RNs, Scrub Techs, OR Aides, and Surgical Assists, you will circulate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 0700-1930 (12-hour rotations with days off rotated among staff)
  • On-call requirement: 1 night per week
  • On-call every 3rd to 4th weekend
  • Holiday call as scheduled (no more than one holiday per year)
  • No self-scheduling

Qualifications:

  • Active NY RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (Operating Room)
  • Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
  • Prior travel or teaching hospital experience welcomed, but not mandatory
  • Strong adaptability and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities:

  • Circulate in the Operating Room for a broad range of surgical cases
  • Scrub as needed (if experienced)
  • Assist with IV starts and patient transport if necessary
  • Utilize EPIC documentation and medication systems
  • Adhere to strict infection control and dress code protocols
  • Support multidisciplinary surgical teams in a Level 3 trauma environment
