As a valued member within a thriving operating room department, you will play a key role in supporting a range of surgical procedures, exposed to cases from general to specialized servicesexcluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, and gastric bypass. With a supportive staff and multi-faceted team structure including RNs, Scrub Techs, OR Aides, and Surgical Assists, you will circulate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- 0700-1930 (12-hour rotations with days off rotated among staff)
- On-call requirement: 1 night per week
- On-call every 3rd to 4th weekend
- Holiday call as scheduled (no more than one holiday per year)
- No self-scheduling
Qualifications:
- Active NY RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (Operating Room)
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
- Prior travel or teaching hospital experience welcomed, but not mandatory
- Strong adaptability and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities:
- Circulate in the Operating Room for a broad range of surgical cases
- Scrub as needed (if experienced)
- Assist with IV starts and patient transport if necessary
- Utilize EPIC documentation and medication systems
- Adhere to strict infection control and dress code protocols
- Support multidisciplinary surgical teams in a Level 3 trauma environment
