A specialized opportunity is available for a Surgical Technologist experienced in cardiac operating rooms. This role is based in Pittsford, NY, and is offered on a contract basis. The position involves working within an Adult Cardiac OR delivering care for a diverse patient population undergoing complex procedures such as CABG, TAVI, heart failure VADs, ECMO, artificial heart implants, and heart transplants. The role demands a high degree of technical skill in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies essential for cardiac surgeries, supporting the surgical team from the scrub position, and maintaining a sterile and safe environment throughout procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for cardiac procedures.
• Assist surgical team during operations, maintaining sterile technique.
• Handle surgical instruments and pharmacologic agents under nurse supervision.
• Perform surgical counts and ensure proper sharps handling.
• Facilitate room turnover efficiently between cases.

Qualifications & Experience:

• NBSTSA Certification or a minimum of 10 years experience as a Surgical Technician.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac operating room.
• Proficient in scrubbing and circulating roles.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
