As an Operating Room Travel Nurse, youll be immersed in a robust surgical services department, gaining valuable experience in main and ambulatory surgery environments. This assignment provides exposure to diverse workplace practices and an opportunity to refine your skills by collaborating with adept surgical teams and respected hospital leaders. Expand your professional foundation, enhance your resume, and observe a range of clinical approaches within a hospital dedicated to patient-centered care.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 0700-1930
  • 12-hour shifts, rotating schedule
  • On call once every 3rd/4th weekend and one night per week
  • Potential on-call for one holiday per year

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years in surgical/OR specialty
  • Current New York RN license and BLS certification required
  • Circulation experience required; scrub experience preferred
  • Proficiency with EPIC documentation/medication system
  • Previous teaching or trauma level 3 experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Circulate in main campus and ambulatory surgery centers (ORs)
  • Participate in case rotation and adapt to cases based on scheduled procedures and experience
  • Collaborate with RNs, techs, anesthesiologists, and surgical assistants
  • Adhere to all OR protocols including dress code and infection control
  • Start IVs and assist with patient transport as needed
  • Contribute to a safe, responsive surgical environment for patients aged 6 months to 100+
