Support surgical teams by preparing and managing instruments and equipment vital to successful operations in a dynamic operating room environment in Pecos, NM. Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to established procedures
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper handling of surgical tools throughout procedures
- Support surgeons and the operating room team by anticipating equipment needs during surgery
- Follow universal precautions for infection control and safety protocols
- Perform cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments
- Communicate effectively with team members and document procedures accurately
- Assist in inventory management of surgical supplies as needed
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
- Surgical Tech certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required
- Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting within the operating room or instrument care environment preferred
- Proficient knowledge of instrument care, sterilization procedures, and equipment handling
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and lift throughout the shift
Schedule/Hours:
- Days: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
