Job Description

A surgical first assistant role is available for a knowledgeable professional with 1+ year of experience in a variety of surgical specialties. This position operates on a contract basis in Palm Coast, FL, offering a dynamic environment that involves orthopedic, neurological, general surgery, robotic-assisted procedures, urological, and gynecological surgeries.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the surgical team throughout procedures to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Managing surgical instruments and supporting minimally invasive techniques when required
  • Participating in on-call rotations that include weekends, holidays, and varied weekday schedules
  • Adhering to all clinical protocols and maintaining sterile environment standards

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year as a Surgical First Assistant, preferably with experience in ortho, neuro, general surgery, robotic, urology, and gynecology
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CERT-NBSTSA - CSFA)
  • Ability to fulfill call requirements with flexibility for varying weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Comfortable floating to nearby healthcare facilities as needed

The schedule offers 36 hours per week spread across 12-hour daytime shifts. Applicants should be prepared to cover a minimum of 8 call days during weekdays monthly and 1 weekend day per month.
