This role as a traveling Surgical Technologist promises exposure to a wide array of specialties and the opportunity to hone your skills in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, podiatry, urology, and dental procedures. Working in a supportive hospital environment, youll have the unique advantage of expanding your resume, deepening your practical knowledge, and collaborating with respected professionals in your field. Schedule:
- Primarily 8-hour shifts, Monday Friday: 7:00 am 3:30 pm (occasional early starts possible)
- On-call rotation: approximately 1 night every two-week pay period, and every 5th to 6th weekend
- Holiday call rotation included
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
- Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, OB/GYN, podiatry, urology, and dental cases
- State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter training
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Ability to stay within 30 minutes of the hospital while on-call
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and readily available
- Work closely with surgeons and the OR team to anticipate needs during procedures
- Maintain a high standard of patient care and infection control
- Participate in on-call and holiday rotation as scheduled
