An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Surgical Assistant/Surgical First Assistant with a strong background in orthopedic, neuro, and ENT procedures, as well as expertise in robotics. This contract position offers the chance to contribute your skills to a dynamic operating room environment, working closely with surgical teams on a variety of advanced cases.
Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week contract with potential for extension
- 40 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts
- Variable days off
- 12 on-call shifts per week, plus one 24-hour call shift per month (weekend)
- Call Options: 5:00 pm7:00 am or 5:00 pm7:30 pm, depending on weekly scheduling needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an ORT or Surgical First Assistant
- Current BLS certification
- Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) or NBSTSA certification required
- Demonstrated proficiency in orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT procedures, and robotics
- Willingness to float to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
- Team-oriented with excellent communication and adaptability in fast-paced settings
Responsibilities:
- Provide surgical assistance in the operating room across a range of specialties, with emphasis on ortho, neuro, ENT, and robotic procedures
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure optimal patient care and safety
- Maintain a sterile field and uphold the highest standards of infection control
- Participate in on-call rotation and adjust to variable scheduling demands
- Support seamless case turnover and assist with procedure preparation as required
