Job Description
A highly skilled operating room nursing professional is needed to provide comprehensive perioperative support across multiple surgical specialties. This contract opportunity is based in Oneida, WI, offering a specialized role in a Level II Trauma Center with advanced facilities including Level III NICU and Maternity Center, as well as a Primary Stroke Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preparatory and scrubbing duties essential for surgical procedures.
- Assist in surgeries covering a broad range of specialties: robotics (DaVinci XI and DV5), bariatrics, ENT, plastics, urology, gynecology, neuro, orthopedics, minor vascular, endovascular, and general surgery.
- Support sterile processing by assembling instrumentation and managing supplies.
- Collaborate with anesthesia staff to ensure proper positioning, intubation/extubation assistance, and equipment safety checks.
- Float between the Main OR and East side surgical areas within one building; occasional rare floating to another surgery center.
- Participate in case turnover, ensuring equipment and supplies are fully prepared.
- Utilize technology including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience, with mandatory bariatric and robotics experience.
- Certifications required: CST and BLS for scrub techs; RN with BLS for circulator roles.
- Ability to competently assist with neuro and orthopedic surgeries.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring under anesthesiologist supervision.
Schedule & Work Conditions:
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
- Holiday shifts may be required but no weekend work.
- Up to 4 days of Request Time Off (RTO) may be approved.
- Parking is free and available on site.
- Orientation consists of two 8-hour shifts onsite prior to starting.
