Job Description
A Registered Nurse with OR expertise is sought for a dynamic role in a Level I Trauma Center located in Mount Pleasant, SC. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work within a high-acuity, Magnet-designated teaching hospital known for advanced surgical specialties and cutting-edge technology.
Shift Schedule:
- Primary shift: 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with holiday rotation
- Includes one weekend shift per month (10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday)
- Up to four on-call shifts per month, including two weekend call shifts (7 a.m.7 p.m. or 7 p.m.7 a.m.)
- Rotating weekends required
Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the Main Operating Room across various surgical specialties such as Trauma, Transplant, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
- Perform both scrub and circulating duties as part of a nurse-driven team
- Float within the scope of practice to meet the needs of the facility or sister units as required
- Participate in emergency response teams, especially during hurricane season
Qualifications:
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license
- BLS certification; Radiation Badge provided by agency
- Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience strongly preferred; first-time OR nurses accepted
- Previous scrub experience highly valued
- Flexibility to accommodate block scheduling pending manager approval
