Serving in a modern surgical services department within a large, progressive hospital, youll gain invaluable hands-on experience with advanced technology and a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics through geriatrics. Working alongside skilled OR clinicians, surgical techs, and anesthesiology staff, youll develop your expertise in circulating while also having the chance to polish your scrub skills. Exposure to different leadership styles and innovative workplace protocols will help broaden your professional perspective, making this role an asset to your growing resume.

Schedule / Hours

  • 0700-1930 shift, 12-hour rotations
  • Rotation schedule balancing days off with other 12-hour staff
  • On call one night per week and once every 3rd-4th weekend
  • Holiday call only if not already assigned

Key Qualifications

  • Active NY Nursing license and BLS required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in operating room nursing
  • At least 2 years in specialty and prior travel experience preferred but not required
  • Circulating required; scrub experience valuable
  • Competence with EPIC documentation and medication systems
  • Adherence to strict OR dress codes and protocols

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Circulate for a wide variety of surgical cases (excluding cardiac, neuro, transplant, and gastric bypass)
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team including anesthesiology, respiratory, CNA/PCTs, and surgical assistants
  • Float as needed to ASC site depending on rotation and case load
  • Support patient transports, IV starts, and sustain high standards for patient safety
