Professionally, youll be immersed in an environment that fosters skill development, from collaborating with seasoned surgical teams to navigating an advanced EPIC documentation and medication system. Exposure to a variety of surgical specialties (excluding cardiac, transplant, neuro, and gastric bypass) means your resume will reflect versatility and comprehensive perioperative nursing experience. Schedule/Hours:
- Shift: 0700-1930
- 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule
- On call: once every 3rd to 4th weekend, and 1 night per week
- Holiday coverage: on call for 1 holiday per year as needed
Qualifications:
- Active NY nursing license
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, including 2 years in surgical specialty
- Prior travel and teaching hospital experience welcomed but not mandatory
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
Duties:
- Circulate for a wide array of surgeries for patients aged 6 months and older
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including RNs, aides, surgical techs)
- Comply with OR attire and safety protocols
- Float to ASC as needed, based on rotation and experience
- Utilize EPIC for seamless documentation and medication management
- Start IVs and assist with patient transports as required
