Job Description

An outpatient orthopedic technologist role is available on a contract basis in Los Angeles, CA. This position focuses on splinting, casting, and wound care without involvement in surgeries, making it ideal for professionals with strong outpatient orthopedic experience.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting
  • Strong skills in splinting, casting, and wound care
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Orthopedic Technologist Certification (OTC) preferred; required within 180 days
  • Flu vaccination required without exemptions
  • First-time travel contracts accepted

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants in assessment and treatment of orthopedic patients
  • Educate patients regarding care and treatment plans, including management of casts and splints
  • Apply and remove various orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, slings, and traction
  • Assist with fracture and dislocation reductions and wound care procedures
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms and record vital signs and medication information accurately
  • Perform designated diagnostic tests as directed by the provider
  • Fit orthopedic equipment such as braces, walkers, and crutches, instructing patients on their proper use

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5 days, 8 hours each)
