Job Description

Support surgical teams in a dynamic operating room environment in Longmont, CO, as a skilled surgical technologist. This contract opportunity involves preparing and managing surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring seamless procedures from start to finish, and maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies before procedures, verifying correct items for each case.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs by passing instruments, retracting tissue, and operating equipment during surgery.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and handle sharps and waste according to safety protocols.
  • Participate in counting instruments, sponges, and sharps to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with operating room turnover, including cleaning and restocking between cases.
  • Support administrative duties as assigned by the surgical team or management.
  • Adhere strictly to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards throughout all activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.
  • Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology program or a minimum of two years of OR experience preferred.
  • Manual dexterity, organizational skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Compliance with state-specific certification requirements if applicable.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift up to 75 pounds, and respond quickly in fast-paced surgical settings.
