Job Description

Deliver critical support within a fast-paced surgical setting, assisting surgeons and the operating room team throughout a variety of procedures. This position calls for an experienced professional with skills in perioperative nursing, specifically as an Operating Room Technician (ORT). Youll be responsible for upholding strict standards of patient safety and sterile technique, helping provide the highest quality intraoperative care.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a perioperative or surgical services environment as an ORT or equivalent
  • Current nursing licensure and relevant ORT certification (if required by state or facility)
  • Comprehensive understanding of sterile field management and infection control protocols
  • Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and swiftly respond in a dynamic, high-acuity setting
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract positionspecific shifts and durations will be discussed during the interview process

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
  • Pass instruments, sutures, and other surgical materials to the surgeons as needed
  • Retract tissues and assist in visualizing the operative area as directed
  • Monitor and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies before and after procedures
  • Restock OR suites and verify readiness for subsequent cases
  • Collaborate with nursing, surgical, and support teams across intraoperative patient care services
