The Downtown Adult OR presents a fast-paced environment where your expertise will be valued while providing crucial care to diverse patient populations. Schedule/Hours:
- Shifts include a rotating mix:
- 4 x 8-hour shifts (11:0019:30; 15:0023:30)
- 4 x 12-hour shifts (11:0023:30)
- Evening shift focus
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years recent (within last 4 years) operating room experience in a level 1 or 2 trauma center or equivalent acute care facility
- Current certification required
- Proficient in trauma, ortho, general, ENT, vascular, GYN, neurosurgery, bariatric, GU cases
- Previous scrub experience in acute care settings
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
- No history of license or certification suspension or investigation
- Successful pre-employment health clearance
- Able to perform with minimal supervision and orientation in high-acuity settings
- First time travelers considered if experienced in similar large facilities
- No First Assist in New York State
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile operative fields
- Assist surgeons and operating teams during procedures
- Accurately handle and count instruments and supplies
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to protocols
- Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
