Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Operating Room Technology or equivalent
  • Current certification or eligibility as an Operating Room Technician (ORT)
  • Experience assisting with a variety of surgical procedures
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique, instrument handling, and infection control protocols
  • Ability to function effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • BLS certification required; additional certifications preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments and supplies
  • Assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures
  • Maintain a sterile field to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
  • Account for instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures
  • Handle specialized surgical instruments and equipment with precision
  • Support operating room turnover between procedures
  • Adhere to safety protocols and facility guidelines at all times
  • Document relevant information as directed
